Biographie / Biography:

Certified Montreal Academy teacher since 2012.

Mana graduated from Toho Gakuen high school of Music and studied further at Toho Gakuen School of Music (College) under Toshiya Eto and Tsugio Tokunaga. Currently, she is finishing her Master’s degree in collaboration with violinists Jonathan Crow and Mark Fewer at Schulich School of Music at McGill University.

Mana plays solo as well as chamber music; she is a member of various orchestras such as the chamber orchestra
“Appassionata” and the Tokyo Mozart Players, Auriolus Quartet, Creo trio and Duo Ventapane.

In 2002, she was chosen to enjoy chamber music collaboration with Midori Goto, Koji Oikawa and Kota Nagahara at Midori’s career 20th anniversary concert in Japan. She participated in a concert tour “Mozart meets Jazz”, and made an appearance at several music festivals such as, Martha Argerich’s Meeting Point in Beppu, La Folle Journée au Japon, and the Takefu International Music Festival. Her recent projects include the promotion of all violin and piano works by the Polish composer Karol Szymanowski, and a project called “The Three Faces of Kreisler” that explores rich output of the violin virtuoso Fritz Kreisler.

Mana is a sought after violin and viola teacher, and also teaches introductory piano to beginners. She teaches all styles of classical music. She believes that music makes one’s life fruitful and colorful and enjoys sharing musical experiences with her students. She considers the development of a student’s ability to work, think and imagine him or herself, one of her goals. She seeks to provide tools and guidance in order to facilitate the acquisition of knowledge, experience in performance and motivation in pursuit of life with music. Mana is well acquainted with Suzuki method as well as the RCM system of music education and incorporates both in her personal approach to every individual student. She believes in solid technical, theoretical and aural training from early age.
