Biographie / Biography:

Certified Montreal Academy teacher since 2013.

An inspirational music coach, Kaisha learned classical piano as a little girl, long nights of playing piano and singing at church while growing up, and hearing her father belt out reggae and soul hits made Kaisha fall in love with music.

Her undergrad at York University in Toronto, and diving into jazz theory and methods help her obtain a solid foundation , which she’ll further enhance as she begins her post graduate work in Jazz Voice.

Meanwhile, traveling with gospel choirs as an alto singer and as a mezzo-soprano with the Nathaniel Dett Chorale - elevated her musician and workmanship. And it was her short time living in Jamaica as well as listening to R&B, reggae, hip-hop, and rock music that help her to relate to musicians from all walks of life. It’s no surprise then that Kaisha’s experiences shaped her in to a creative, fun, eclectic singer, songwriter, pianist and teacher who has taught at various music conservatories.

As a professional musician who gigs locally, Kaisha has much musical book and street smarts, making her ready to tackle the unique needs of students of different levels with various musical interests – including classical, jazz, rock, pop, R&B, reggae, and gospel pianists and singers. Whether it is traditional classical-based lessons or ones with a contemporary, new-age focus, Kaisha is ready, happy and passionate to commit to a musical journey with you that will help in bringing you closer to achieving and exceeding your musical goals.
