Biographie / Biography:
Certified Montreal Academy of Music teacher since 2017.
A stylistically versatile and engaging teacher, Amelie is a fantastic addition to our team.
Amelie has been involved in the Montreal music scene since 2014, after moving from Calgary, Alberta to pursue a Bachelor’s of Music Education at McGill University’s Schulich School of Music. Aside from Jazz Voice being her primary instrument, Amelie has years of experience teaching beginners’ pop, rock, blues, and classical vocal genres, and a strong background in music theory and piano pedagogy.
Amelie has been a music student herself for fifteen years, and her passion and dedication for her craft has taken her to musical avenues all over North America. She is currently part of the board of directors for School of Music Montreal and a faculty member of the McGill Conservatory.
Her passion and dedication for the study of music make her a dynamic advocate for music education in her community, and she has made it her personal mission to give access to the power of music to as many students as possible.
Her pedagogical philosophy is based on making her students well-rounded musicians and giving them every possible resource to sharpen their technical skills, be it in voice, keyboard, or theory. She believes in complete musicianship education within the learning of the instrument, making each of her students confident, creative, skilled, knowledgeable and passionate musicians. She is dedicated to offering flexible lessons, tailored to each student’s specific needs (including language requirements in both French and English), following their personal vision.
Amelie’s teaching style is passionate and enthusiastic, making every lesson both a fun and productive experience for her students!
