Biographie / Biography:

Certified Montreal Academy of Music teacher since 2017.

An amazing and devoted addition to our team! Lee has been described by the Chronicle Herald as a “big musical talent, playing with extraordinary passion''. Born in Seoul Korea, she immigrated with her family to Edmonton Alberta at the age of five and began the Edmonton School String Program at the age of 9. She excelled through the ten year program in three years, travelling with the senior orchestra Singing Strings at age 12 to Korea and Taiwan!

By age 15 Lee won the ''all ages'' category for performance in the Western provinces through the Western Board of Music. She began producing her own string quartets from age of 12, and providing classical string music in small ensembles. She is presently the founder of the Canadian String Quartet Association, a budding association whose mission is to conceive and promote live music ensembles across Canada.

Lee has produced improvising, latin, klezmer, hip-hop ensembles, such as Libertango, a seven piece ensemble, and was described by the Halifax Magazine as “exotic, electrifying, one of the finest world music acts”. She was an ECMA nominee Event of the Year, partnering with the Nova Scotia Tourism and Culture, Casino Nova Scotia, Atlantic Flamenco festival and Nova Scotia Symphony as well as many notable venues combining hiphop, breakdance, spoken word, mi’kmaq singing, along with other klezmer inspired ensembles. All ages and levels welcomed!
