Biographie / Biography:

Certified Montreal Academy of Music teacher since 2018.

A wonderful addition to our team!

Rayna holds a master’s degree in piano performance from the West Chester
University of Pennsylvania and a master’s degree in vocal accompanying from the
Peabody conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University. She is currently a doctoral
candidate in collaborative piano at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Rayna has
taught piano in the USA and Colombia at university and pre-college levels for about
8 years, and has worked with students of all ages.

Her main teaching experiences
include a full -time position as vocal coach and accompanist at the Juan N Corpas
University in Bogotá, and at UW-Madison, as a teaching assistantship in
collaborative piano, and in music theory and aural skills. Rayna is a dedicated and
passionate teacher. She always aims to develop the potential of her students by
understanding their motivations and needs. She carefully chooses the appropriate
repertoire combining the student’s selections with her own. She believes that music
theory and basic aural skills are a crucial part in any musical education, so she
incorporates these in her teaching. Recommended!
